Yoga of Sleep
Yoga Nidra allows you to enter a state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep. In this state, the mind remains fully aware while the body experiences complete relaxation. This unique combination enables the mind to turn its focus inward, exploring the body from within, as the physical body rests and breathing remains steady and controlled. It is easy to follow, with verbal instructions provided by the teacher.
One of Yoga Nidra’s greatest strengths is its accessibility, suitable for all ages and abilities. It can be practiced by anyone aged five and above, regardless of fitness level or physical condition, and can be guided in either savasana or a seated position. Yoga Nidra has been shown to reduce mental health issues like anxiety and depression, and it is particularly effective for relieving stress and tension. It may also help alleviate pain associated with various medical conditions by supporting the immune system, leading to a reduction in symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, chest pain, palpitations, sweating, and abdominal discomfort. Notably, Yoga Nidra has been used as part of treatments for soldiers recovering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
